Reminiscing a Bygone Summer!!!!

We Minnesotans had a splendid summer this year!!!  It was filled with sunny days and long humid nights when sun simply refused to set until a ripe time of 10 some days!!  You could see the hustle bustle of the kids playing on the roads, biking to their hearts content, parks mobbed with little heads bobbing up and down the slides, people enjoying brisk walks around the lake some like me, strolls around the lake, leisurely picnics and so on!  This year I missed out a major part of it and was in the coal hot capital of India...Chennai :-0)!  And I kept muttering to myself how much I missed the summer back "home" .... did you notice...I have started calling this "home" after about 14 years of living here!  Finally!!!  About time!  Well..... once I came back...and school started and weather started getting nippy again!  But...but....it bounced back...and it became summer all over again!!!  The temperatures soared to the 80s, slowly crawling to the late 80s, but, that was it...the mercury refused to budge!!  Hahaha!  This in itself was a bonus right???  Middle of October, we were enjoying 70s and upper 80s!!

What does this have to do with my blogging right?????  Where am I getting with this???  Well.... see I am this nice wholesome "mommy" material...so what do you think I naturally leaned towards???   Eats for my children!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yup!  You guessed it right!!!!  I made this yummy, creamy, rejuvenating, vitamin packed, protein packed drink for my kids that simply screamed yummmmmmmm!!!  This was about 3-4 days ago..and have been wanting to share it with you, but kept putting it off and the whole scene around here has changed!!!  I can still reminisce the warm weather can't I?  You can too...make this Tropical Breeze and enjoy....... a slice of summer whenever!

Now...to make this Luscious drink, all you will need are ....  1 cup of milk...I used fat free variety, 1/2 cup of orange juice and 3/4 cup of crushed pineapple in syrup (omit the syrupy variety and add sugar to sweeten)..

Whisk all of the above in a blender with crushed ice till you get this frothy, ice cold beverage!
I love this drink....now adults.. make note that when you add about 1/4-1/2 cup of vanilla vodka to it ... you are taking it to a whole new level!!!!  Ensoy!!!  I, like a nice mommy of course gave my chipmunks the "virgin" variety!  But believe me... they were tipsied enough just with the yummy taste of it all!!!
Verdict:  Hmmmmm.... Yummy in my Tummy!!!!
What followed this were happy gurgles, giggles and hugs!!! Enjoy whipping these in no time and sip them with your special somebody.......
